A seahorse, an emperor fish or a manta ray are just some of the marine creatures that illustrate the scene reproduced on this cheerful t-shirt, from the Picture of the Natural, Civil, and Geographical History of the Kingdom of Peru (1799), kept in the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales. Designed by the royal treasurer José Ignacio Lecuanda and painted by Louis Thiébaut, it is an authentic cabinet of natural history.
