Suede shoulder bag
Suede. 16 x 20 cm (63 cm handles). Made in Italy.
Between 1774 and 1775 Goya received his first commission for the Real Fábrica de Tapices, consisting of a series of eight hunting-themed cartoons to decorate the dining room of the Princes of Asturias at the Escorial. In some of them, as in the Hunting Party, the leather accessories carried by the hunters are perfectly visible, such as the bag, cartridge pouch and knapsack, similar in design to this austere suede shoulder bag with fringes, which is the ideal size for carrying only the essentials.
