"The Paseo de las Delicias" drawing notebook

On the occasion of the exhibition On the Reverse, held at the Museo Nacional del Prado from 7 November 2023 to 3 March 2024, the magnificent work reproduced on the cover of this drawing notebook is presented to the public: The Paseo de las Delicias [verso] (1784-1785), by Francisco Bayeu. In the context of this exhibition, this work, along with others, is exhibited directly with the obverse side glued to the wall, revealing a richly decorated back with stickers, notes and inscriptions of various kinds, which give us clues as to the provenance of the work and other details that help us to understand and appreciate what is shown on the obverse side.
