"The Birth of the Milky Way" notebook

This notebook reproduces a detail of one of the most recognized mythological works by Rubens in the Museo del Prado collection, The Birth of the Milky Way (1636-1638). This canvas was part of the decoration of the Torre de la Parada, the largest commission Rubens received from Philip IV. The work was executed around 1636-1638 approximately, and other artists such as Velázquez were also involved in the project.
