Darío de Regoyos was one of the most cosmopolitan Spanish artists of the turn of the century. He adapted the manner of painting of the Impressionists and Neo-Impressionists, including working outdoors. All this is evident in The Pine at Béjar (1900), the work shows a mountainous background depicting the Sierra de Candelario (Salamanca), reproduced in this practical one-compartment folder that can hold A4-size documents.
