Black leather gloves
Sheepskin of Spanish origin. Made in Spain.
Hunting was a common pastime for the European nobility. Leather gloves were an indispensable accessory for the practice of hunting, as attested by three paintings by Velázquez between 1632 and 1636 to decorate the Torre de la Parada: those of Philip IV, his brother Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand of Austria and Prince Baltasar Carlos as hunters. These elegant leather gloves, designed exclusively for the Museo del Prado, reflect this rich tradition.
