"Punctual folly" linen bag
100% linen. 43 x 40 cm.
This bag reproduces a print from the series of Follies that Francisco de Goya began in 1815, after the War of Independence, in which he reflects the artist's historical and personal context. In Punctual folly (1815-1819), he plays with the ambiguity of the composition. He makes us wonder whether the horse is really on a tightrope or whether it is resting on the ground: is it a political satire on the instability of power, or an allegory of the balance of passions and feminine virtue?
