Rosa Bonheur was the artist of the 19th century who achieved the greatest academic recognition. Considered a master of the animalière genre, she enjoyed critical attention during her lifetime that only the most renowned painters and sculptors of her time enjoyed. In El Cid (1879) the painter proposes a direct contemplation of the animal in its splendour, capturing its face in particular. This has made the canvas one of the essential works in the Museo Nacional del Prado's collection, which you will be able to contemplate whenever you wish, reproduced on this beautiful bag.
