Epistolary of the Madrazo Archive in the Museo del Prado. III. Letters from the wives and other members of the family, and from artists, friends and acquaintances. Volumes 1 and 2.
These two volumes, belonging to the third and final volume of the Epistolario, contain 1,122 letters, dated between 1831 and 1947 and belonging to more than 500 different senders. The first volume contains letters written by the wives and other members of the family, including Mariano Fortuny Madrazo, the well-known designer, as well as those of the artists and people closest to the Madrazos, among them Valentín Carderera. The second volume includes letters from artists such as Overbeck, politicians such as Emilio Castelar and other personalities of Spanish and European theatre, literature and culture, such as Fernán Caballero and Alejandro Dumas.
