"Still Life with Citrons, Oranges and a Rose" notebook
Dotted line. A5 (14.5 x 21 cm). 100 sheets (200 pages).
Still Life with Citrons, Oranges and a Rose (1633), from the Norton Simon Museum, California, is the only signed and dated still life by Zurbarán. It is one of the most important works in the history of this genre in Europe and its discovery in the 1920s made it possible to make progress in the process of reconstructing the painter's catalogue. A beautiful detail is reproduced on the cover of this practical notebook in which the painter's mastery in the treatment of the shades can be appreciated.
