"Weighted the cork in the Sierra de Cádiz" notebook
9 x 14 cm (0.8 cm spine). 64 sheets (128 pages).
In his work Weighted the cork in the Sierra de Cádiz (1908) Francisco Hernández-Rubio portrays two teenagers who appear to have joined the adults in stripping the bark from the cork oaks, a delicate task carried out between July and September that required a great deal of manual labour. This photograph was taken at a time in history when many artists found agricultural and livestock work to be a source of inspiration, which they depicted with a naturalistic sense and sought to break away from the previous tradition of genre painting. A detail is reproduced in this compact notepad, which is the perfect size to carry with you and write down everything you need to do on a daily basis.
