"Christ shown to the People" A5 notebook

On the occasion of the exhibition On the Reverse, held at the Museo Nacional del Prado from 7 November 2023 to 3 March 2024, the magnificent work reproduced in this practical bag is presented to the public: Christ Shown to the People (ca. 1500), by anonymous Spanish (?) from the 16th century. This panel is unfinished, and the extraordinary tracing of the arch can be appreciated, as well as the application of the paint on the drawing in its initial phase. The special feature of this painting and the reason it is on display in this exhibition is that it is on the reverse of another painting: The Virgin and Child. This was painted at a later date, which suggests that the artist may have abandoned the first composition.
