"The Sense of Smell" notebook

The cover of this useful notebook reproduces a detail of the work The Sense of Smell (Peter Paul Rubens and Jan Brueghel the Elder, 1617-1618), which is presented restored in the exhibition The Essence of a Painting. With its large format and white pages, the cover shows blue lilacs, hydrangeas, white lilies, peonies, wild daffodils, marigolds, hyacinths, lilies... species of flowers from the lush garden of the Infanta Clara Eugenia imagined by Rubens and Brueghel in 17th-century Brussels.
